Alan Bull will be exhibiting new truck paintings featured on his 2016 calendars. Originally from Maine, Alan has been based in Newburyport for most of the past 25 years and is best known for his paintings of the agricultural landscape of New England. His work has been seen in feature films, on album covers and in print media including Architectural Digest, The New York Times, The Boston Globe and House Beautiful as well as on Houzz and The Martha Blog. 2016 Truck calendars will be available.
Boston artist, Maria Malatesta will be showing a selection of her Stripe Series. which she describes as “bands of color carefully painted in horizontal layers, reflecting colors found in the natural world.” She is also known for her large Expressive paintings inspired by movement and color of nature. Maria’s work has been shown in many shows in the Boston area and the North Shore, including Chameleon Gallery. She teaches at Montserrat College.
Fibers, wire, wax, drawing materials and a variety of papers are included in the new mixed media monotypes of Mary Arthur Pollak to be shown during the November ArtWalk Weekend.
The studio/gallery at 53 Middle St. is workspace for Pollak which includes an etching press used to create her monotypes. In addition to featured gallery the studio offers monotype cards, small works and a variety of framed and shrink wrapped pieces.
Refreshments will be served during the ArtWalk Weekend. Indigo Artist Studio is open during ArtWalk hours of 12pm-7pm on Saturday, Nov. 7 and 12pm-5pm on Sunday, Nov. 8.
